Family Hoedown

What a big weekend!!! Phew!! We have been planning for our Family Hoedown for months and it finally came time to party! We had the party on Saturday and it was a lot of fun (and a lot of work!)! We had amazing weather too which was helpful. It was great to see everyone but it went by too fast! I think next year we'll start the party sooner! :)

Leo and Gloria had a blast! Leo was a trooper the whole night. He didn't get to bed until about 9:30...boy was he tired! But he had so much fun and loved seeing everyone! Gloria was over the moon excited about everyone being at the house. She knew we were having the party for quite some time now and has been asking every day "Are we doing the hoedown tonight? Are my friends and cousins coming over tonight?" She had a blast playing with everyone. There were lots of kids and they were all tuckered out by the end. Some of the Hoedown activities included a hay ride, potato sack races, bobbing for apples, hunting for treasure, s'mores, dancing and more! What a fun fun night!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the party a big success! Special thanks to Lauren for helping with the party prep, Mike for driving the tractor and helping with set up, my mom for help with all of the yummy food and Tom for all the hard work he put into making the party special. Thank you all for coming to share in celebrating Leo's First Birthday and our new home! We will share pictures hopefully soon. Can't wait to see them all!!

The rest of the weekend was busy mostly with party clean up but we fit in some fun stuff too. We went to a block party in our neighborhood yesterday which was really nice. We got a chance to meet some neighbors we hadn't met yet. We live in a great neighborhood!

Today, while Tom worked, I spent some time with both kids in the a.m. then G and I spent some quality time together while Leo napped at my parent's house. Gloria and I played at the park and then went for a nature walk. It was perfect! She was so cute! She wanted to bring her camera on the walk because I was bringing mine. She said we were going on a "nature picture walk." She enjoyed taking pictures of things here and there. Then she stopped and said she wanted to take a picture of us together, she was so sweet! After our walk, we picked Leo up and went to the swimming pool to swim and play on the beach. We were all very tired by the afternoon!

This evening we had invited our parents and my grandfather and uncle to the house for dinner. We had lots of leftovers from Saturday to share. :) It was nice to sit and relax and visit for a bit. We even got one more tractor ride in before Tom returned it to my grandfather's house. I sat in the back with the two kids while Tom drove. It was great! After more clean up (thank you everyone for your help!), we hung out by the fire and made s'mores. It was the perfect ending to an awesome weekend!

Gloria starts preschool tomorrow and she is very excited! I can't believe we are already at this point. I know she has been at the school now for a while but this year it is official, she is a preschooler!! It will be a big day but I know she'll do well. We are so proud of her! It is going to be a great year!
