Design Challenge

I recently entered a design challenge on Minted.com. Minted is a stationery site that hosts contests allowing designers to submit their designs. In this case, the contest was about themed birthday party invitations. I chose ladybugs. :) Each design is rated and at the end of the contest, there are several winners chosen for various categories. The winners are given a cash prize and their design is posted on the website for sale. The winner then receives a portion of any sales made. Pretty cool!

If you'd like to vote for my design, please click below and rate my design. You can also browse and vote for many other talented designers who have entered this contest. Hopefully I'll get to enter more designs in the future! :)

Messy Little Details

For a long time I've been thinking about a new name for our blog and a new look. I've been messing around with some ideas and this is what I've come up with.

For the Look
I thought I'd go a little retro. :) The background of the header is a scan from a sheet set I found just yesterday when I was cleaning out one of our trunks. They are old and very 70's. I love them! I've decided to put them on our bed in fact. They will spruce up our white on white look a little. Anyway, I thought it would also make for a fun background to the design of the blog header. I may tweak things a little down the road but, for now, this is the new look for the blog.

The Name
I've also renamed our blog. Yes, the blog is about "Our Family" but seriously, I'm so bored with that name. So...we've settled on "Messy Little Details" for now. I came up with this idea because Gloria is always calling everything "messy!" Hm. Do you think she might have gotten this from me? Nah! ;) In my opinion, our lives our full of messy little details. Sometimes fun messes, sometimes not. Either way, the messy details make up our life together as a family. I thought it was cute. It will stick around until maybe we think of another fabulous idea:)

In the meantime, enjoy this new look. Tell me what you think, if you will. I'm always interested in feedback.

We hope you've had a great weekend! Happy vacation to many of you out there! School is out and the fun has begun! :)
