We decided that last weekend (the long holiday weekend) was a good weekend to convert Gloria's crib to a toddler bed. I had 3 days off so I would be able to commit the time to her and the transition. We really made a big deal out of it! Gloria was super excited about this step. She loves getting in and out of her bed all by herself. She sleeps great in it! We are so proud!
The transition wasn't completely flawless though. :) Night one in her crib was perfect! She didn't get up once. I think she was so darn tired from seeing the fireworks and playing with her friends that it didn't matter what type of bed she was in, she was going to pass out anyway! :)
The nap the next day was a bit more challenging. She was all too excited about the fact that she could now get up and explore her room instead of going to bed. :) Well, after many times going in and out of the room to settle her back down to bed, an hour and a half later, she finally fell asleep. Yay! After that, she's been great! Maybe once here and there (like tonight) she gets up but so far, that's been it. She was getting up much earlier than usual too but today, she slept until 7:30am! Boy was I appreciative of that!! :)
This is such a huge deal for Gloria (and us) and I think it will also be perfect for the potty training (which is going very slowly at the moment). Lots of changes happening with our big girl! All very exciting!
