SO...what do we do in the meantime? I've wanted to get our living room remodel going for quite some time now. There aren't any major construction plans for the room but there are a list of things we need to do...rip out the old carpeting, install new flooring, paint, etc. The biggest part of getting the living room project is taking out a closet that protruded from the kitchen into the room. We wanted to take it out to create a more open flow between the kitchen and living room. Well...Tom and I were talking, as we finished up our lunch, about the fact that we should try to get this project under way soon. Next thing I know, Tom says, let's do it now! Haha...okay?! So...we (more like he) tore it down. I did help pick up though:)
Quite the humorous event as far as I'm concerned. Nothing like being spontaneous I guess. Anyway, I took a little video of a small part of this project for your amusement. Don't try this at home, work gloves and goggles are recommended! And stay out of the line of fire!
My demolition man! Maybe I should have gotten a turn with the hammer...it would have been a great stress reliever! :) Of course, Tom says he is very sore from all of this so maybe is was better that I didn't help.
Below is a photo of the aftermath of the demo. A view right to our side door! We have some repair work to do this week and then we'll get started on painting and putting up some new trim. Moving right along! :)
Besides our unexpected house project, Tom and I had a very nice weekend. Most of it involved house work but we also had a chance to enjoy breakfast together and a walk with Bridgette. Tom had to work all weekend so we were only able to squeeze in a small amount of Q-time.
I think I'm going to end the weekend by curling up with my favorite dog and watch a good chick flick. Bridgette never complains about that! :) Have a great week folks!
