Our Little Graduate!

Last night was Gloria's graduation ceremony from the toddler room. Gloria is transitioning from the toddler room, also called the Orange Room, into the next room called the Green Room which is more preschool based. We are so proud of Gloria! She has had such a great year with the Orange Room and we know she'll do wonderful in the Green Room this year! We are sad to loose her teachers, Miss Emily and Miss Janet, but she will have some new, wonderful teachers in the Green Room!

The kids from the Orange Room put on a show for all the parents. They were all too cute!! Gloria really got into it too. She did such a great job!

Below is a photo and video from last night. Gloria is all decked out in her dress that her auntie "wawen" gave her. :) She was so excited to dress up for graduation!

There is also a video of one of the dances the kids did for the graduation. I'll post a few more videos in the Video 2011 album too.

There are a few more photos in our June 2011 album if you want to check them out. Gloria was excited to have her Gramma, Papa and Grammy there too!!

Roll With It!

Being the bowler that I am, I can't believe it has taken us this long to take Gloria to the bowling alley to bowl. She's been many times before when she was younger but never to bowl. Her school had a family bowling night at a local bowling alley and we were more than excited to go and have some fun with Gloria's friends and teachers!

Gloria had so much fun, as did we! There was no score, just lots of tossing the balls down the lane. We loved watching Gloria have a blast with this new activity. Hopefully we can take her again soon!

Gloria says "Yay!" :) Notice there are two balls going down the lane at the same time AND the gate is in the process of setting up the pins! haha

School Success!

Gloria had a fantastic first day at school today! When I dropped her off this morning, I was planning to stay with her for a while until she settled. She actually warmed up much faster than I thought she might. She was a little overwhelmed by all the excitement but was intrigued at the same time. After taking me by the hand and exploring the room together, she was ready to play!

When I told Gloria I was leaving, she gave me a kiss and hug and said I love you! Then she went to the window with the teacher to say good-bye. When I got outside the building, she wasn't at the window anymore! haha She had started playing with some other kids. The teacher managed to get her attention long enough to say say bye to me but then she went right back to playtime. I guess she was doing all right! :)

When Tom got the report from Gloria's teacher, she said that Gloria did really well! The only thing she struggled with was nap time, which we expected. It is tough for a young kid to get used to sleeping on mats. Hopefully she'll adjust quickly.

When we asked Gloria about her day, she told us about her friend Rose who is "2 months old." That is what she said anyway. We're a bit confused but we'll find out about Rose on Thursday when she goes back to school. She also said she dressed up like Cinderella today! Oh boy! I know our little girl was in heaven! :)

So, it was a good first day for Gloria! She did far better than I did! I was a wreck all day today. Even with checking in and finding out she was fine, I was still worried! I am relieved that she did so well! We are so proud of our little GEM!

All ready for her first day of Pre Pre-school! :)

School Days

We can't believe it! Tomorrow is Gloria's first day of school at Ja'Duke! She is super excited and we are as well! She has been excited for a very long time. When she went with Tom several weeks ago for a visit to play and get to know her teachers, she made friends very quickly. One little girl named Maddie had taken a special interest in Gloria and took her under her wing. She showed her the park, played with her and made quite the impression. Gloria has remembered her since that day! :) Unfortunately, Maddie has moved into the next class so they won't be together this year but I'm sure Gloria will find some new friends.

This is a photo of Gloria enjoying the bounce house at the Ja'Duke open house a few weeks ago. She had such a good time!
